E18

i carry my beloved camera with me EVERYWHERE i go! i love to whip it out of my purse whenever someone says "oh my word, that is so cute! i wish i had my camera!" i love to capture that cute baby smiling, that look of wonder in a child's eyes, that amazing play on the baseball field, my family, my friends, babies, my cat and dog, my husband, etc... those things that no one can stage.

my camera's been good to me despite being banged around, scratched and dropped several times, and i really love it.

but on saturday, july 5th my photo-taking world nearly ended! on the way to maryland with kellie she asked "did you remember your camera?" to which i answered, "kellie, do i ever NOT have my camera?" of course i pulled it out to look at the hundreds of photos already on my camera card...and that's when it happened:

i pressed ON and a horrible grinding noise accompanied by a loud obnoxious beeeeeeeeeeep and then the error code E18 appeared on the screen! the lens would not open or come out! it brought tears to my eyes! it may not be a super expensive camera, but it is all i have and we have captured many great times together!

lucky for me i was able to strong-arm it into opening and i can coerce it to take pictures still, but i know things aren't totally alright internally. it looks like i am going to have to get a new one! too bad we don't have the means to do so right now...oh yes, and there's that tiny issue of us trying to raise money for our baby...

i guess i can continue coaxing pictures out of it and if worse comes to worse, i'll be taking mental pictures!

I know what you mean fro my birthday in June my mom , mother in law and husbadn got the $$$$ to get me a SLR but I couldn't spend that $$$$ and that much knowing it wasn't going to the adoption so I didn't get the long awaited much wanted camera. I hope to get it before we got to Ethiopia though. So how are things on the adoption front???

Hey Bear!

You are so beautiful.....to me....can't you see!! I love the pics you take. You capture the soul of the thing. What a gift. I hope you get a new camera soon, but until then keep on clicking, or whirring or grinding that lens. I miss you, sweet baby bear!!
